You cannot visit Lake Annecy without doing a tandem paragliding flight. It really is a once in a lifetime experience. Choose various flight times and options and fly like a bird over Lake Annecy. Tandem paragliding is very safe and you will be with a professional and experienced instructor who will fly you around so you can sit back and relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery! The opportunities for hiking on Lake Annecy are endless. From relaxing strolls by the Lake at Menthon St Bernard to sporty hikes up the mountains of La Tournette or Mont Veyrier, it is a hiker and walking paradise. Via Ferrata is a form of rock climbing and you can either hire the equipment from a sports shop and go on our own or you can do a guided tour with a company offering tours. Check out this article here to see where you can go to do via ferrata in the Lake Annecy area.
Hire a stand up paddle board, kayak, boat or a pedalo down at Doussard beach and try your hand at one of the numerous water sports that you can do on Lake Annecy such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, waterskiing, wakeboarding.
Canyoning is a great activity for the adventurous. Canyoning on Lake Annecy can be enjoyed from 8 years plus and there are various different courses to suit different people including family discovery courses to expert courses. Canyoning involves jumping from rocks into deep pools, sliding through natural waterslides and abseiling through the canyon. There are 2 canyons on Lake Annecy; Montmin & Angon and both offer fun expeditions! For families, outings are also organised in a magnificent and quieter canyon in the heart of the Bauges.

Cycle on the 40km cycle path that circles lake Annecy or venture further afield on the famous Tour de France routes of ‘La Semnoz’ or ‘Col de La Forclaz’ and many more. See here for cycling routes in the region.
For mountain biking there are a range of options depending on whether you want to go on your own, do a guided tour or do cross country or downhill mountain biking. For downhill biking, go to the resorts of La Clusaz of Le Semnoz or La Sambuy. For cross country, set off directly from the campsite and take the trail to Faverges in a loop trail or drive with your bike up to the magnificent Col De Aravis and take the cross-country route that takes you or a trail with fantastic views of Mont Blanc. Top tip- From the campsites, there is a free bus in July & August that takes you and your bike to La Sambuy. You can then take the chairlift there up to the top and bike down and then go cross country back to the campsite!
There are 2 treetop adventure parks located on Lake Annecy, ‘Acro’Aventures’ and ‘Fort de Tamie’. Both offer great family fun and for us are equally as good as each other!
Acro’Aventures is located high above Lake Annecy at Talloires. The park is situated high up above the lake and offers beautiful views from the course! Great for adults and children alike, it is a fantastic place for those who are sporty and not afraid of heights to spend a few hours at! Top tip – Take a picnic and watch the paragliders taking off from the paraglider take off zone located up here
Le Fort de Tamie is also an excellent alternative and offers 10 different tree top courses. There is also a playground, shop and café and plenty of places to picnic at. Located 30 minute drive from our campsite, it is the perfect sporty family activity to do during your stay!
Going slightly further afield (1 hr 1à min drive) there are some interesting rafting opportunities to discover. The Isere river offers a fantastic rafting descent, if you love the water and adventure then you will not be bored of this!
Believe it or not you can scuba dive or snorkel on Lake Annecy. In July & August, we offer on the campsites diving taster sessions for children under 18, so they can learn to dive. If they like it and want to do more, you can book trips on Lake Annecy. There is also a famous shipwreck known as ‘Le France’ which was the last paddle boat that sailed on Lake Annecy. The ship sunk in March 1971 to 42 metres and now level 3 scuba divers are able to dive to see it.
