Visit one of the beautiful lake beaches that Lake Annecy has to offer.
For young children, the beach at Saint Jorioz has a safe paddling pool and a stretch of sand, diving boards, a play area, a café, toilets and a safe swimming area with a gradual drop-off into the lake.
The other top choice is Angon or Talloires over the other side of the lake (10-minute drive from the campsite), these are grassy beach areas and boast beautiful mountain views.
Hire a bike from the Camping la Ravoire / Les Fontaines bike hire store or take your own bike around Lake Annecy on the fabulous off road, flat, family friendly cycle path. The cycle path of lake Annecy (also known as the Greenway), runs along the west side of the lake off road for 19 km between Annecy and Doussard and also beyond to Albertville. The path has recently been extended around the lake. On the other side of the lake there are a few sections of the cycle path on the road, but these are rare.
Hire your bikes directly from the campsite!

There are numerous beautiful walks and hikes to do on Lake Annecy for all ages and levels. If you are a family with young children, you can visit the fabulous Doussard nature reserve which is located next to the beach of Doussard. This nature reserve is flat, accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs and has some lovely lookout points over the lake. It is set in forest and reedlands and is a fabulous place to take your camera and get some shots of the lake. There is also a cute lookout point over the lake.
Or, if you fancy a bit more of a hike but not something too strenuous, the Angon waterfall walk is a fantastic option and is doable with children who can walk. You can choose to park 15 minutes walk away from the waterfall above Talloires or you can park at the bottom at Angon or Talloires and walk up through the forest.
For the more active and fit, you can hike the highest and most famous mountain of the Annecy mountains, La Tournette. La Tournette is situated at 1,514m and stands prominently over lake Annecy. This day hike is fantastic and offers amazing views over Lake Annecy and the surrounding mountains.
Just a 45-minute drive from our campsites, Le Semnoz is one of our customers' favourite destinations. It offers you a family day out in the mountains. Park at the top for stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains. There are a variety of walks and hikes for everyone.
At the bottom of the resort, you'll find all sorts of fun activities such as summer luge, mini karting and summer biathlon to keep the whole family entertained. There are also orienteering courses for children, with a reward at the end. Enough to keep them motivated!

Chamonix is a once in a lifetime daytrip to experience when you visit the French Alps!
Visit this famous French alpine town and take the Aiguille Du Midi tele-cabin to see the Mont Blanc glacier. Marvel at the glacier and step into the glass box! Afterwards, you can take the train to see the ‘sea of ice’ (Mer du glace) which is equally impressive and visit the ice cave. Chamonix itself is a beautiful town with many restaurants, cafes and outdoors shops so there is plenty to do here for the day!
Chamonix is located approximately 1hr 30mins from Camping La Ravoire and Camping Les Fontaines and although it can be an expensive day out, is a once in a life time day trip that is very popular with our customers.
Top tip - Leave the camp early in the morning on a clear, sunny day to make a day of it and if you are visiting in July/ August, pre-book your tickets online!
If you like adrenaline fuelled activities and adventure, you cannot miss canyoning in either the Angon or Montmin canyons on Lake Annecy.
There are various courses to do from 8 years plus for all levels including family discovery courses up to more hardcore canyoning for those who have previously done it or who are confident in the water and not afraid of heights!
A great alternative adventure to canyoning or paragliding for children over 1 metre (or older children & adults), the treetop adventure course located above Talloires; Acro’Aventures is a very popular activity. The views from up here over the lake are fantastic and the courses range from easy to difficult therefore are suitable for all!
