Little family with a baby Stay program for a couple with a young child

In the Camping Happy Families there is a couple with a baby:
You are travelling with your little one who marvels and smiles at the world  with just their  two teeth. Naps and logistics shouldn't ruin your stay! At the Les Fontaines and La Ravoire campsites, you can both relax and find stress-free activities to do with your young child.

Perfect for a calm and relaxing  stay in May, June or September. Our campsite is located at an altitude of 500m, the nights are cool and the days mild or even hot. Outside school holidays, the campsite is not full, but all the services are open : shop, swimming pools, bar and restaurant. Some mobile homes such as the TAOS or the VISTA at Les Fontaines or the RELAX and the COMFORT at La Ravoire are equipped with air conditioning. In the COSY range, the single beds in the twin room are movable  giving you the space to put up a travel cot.

Please find here what we recommand to do at Annecy's lake especlially for you.

Doussard beach is located 1.3 km from Les Fontaines campsite and 800m from La Ravoire campsite.

Short stay program for a couple with a young child:

Arrival on Friday afternoon from 3 p.m.: discover Lake Annecy on foot just a short walk from the campsite.
The lake is easily accessible with a pushchair taking the cycle path. At the Rugby de Doussard stadium, you will see a signpost for the beach, follow the footpath and take the pedestrian crossing.
On the beach, you will find grass or sandy areas as well as a snack restaurant for meals.

chèvre2 Marchand goat farm in Vesonne, commune of Faverges

Short stay program Saturday

Saturday morning: Stroll by the lake from Saint Jorioz  to Duingt.
This walk is easy, flat and without cars. Park at the Saint Jorioz beach car park and walk along the lake on the right from the port. Access is possible with a pushchair. The walk follows along  the lake shore with beautiful views. There are information boards along the way pointing out local wildlife. The path stretches as far as Duingt, the round  trip takes about 1h30.

Saturday afternoon: siesta followed by a  farm visit at the end of the afternoon at the Vesonne goat farm, open from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. 10 minutes from the campsite by car, you will easily find this small goat farm which only opens its shop on Wednesday and Saturday evenings from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. In general, they suggest you take a short tour of the farm to feed the goats as they come out from milking and the few pigs.

square eveche Old city of Annecy

Short stay program Sunday

Your little one gets up early! Come and fetch your fresh bread and croissants with them on foot from the campsite shop. Everything is ready at 8 a.m. From 10 a.m., the playground is open with its many games for children. Departure time from the accommodation is before 10am. You can then visit the city of Annecy on your way home.

Annecy has a large and charming pedestrian zone. You can crisscross the old town with a pushchair without worries on Sunday afternoons in May, June and September. In summer, crowds are more of a problem during the day.
But you will find several quaint squares with seats for a needed rest and shaded play areas near to water points and toilets – practical!

Program for a one-week stay for a couple with a young child:

Perfect for a calm and relaxing stay in May, June or September. Our campsite is located at an altitude of 500m, the nights are cool and the days mild or can even be hot. Outside school holidays, the campsite is not full, but all the services are open: shop, swimming pools, bar and restaurant.
We have put together a program for you which should  avoid traffic jams and long car journeys, but which will show you the best of the Alps. Many of the walks mentioned are possible with a pushchair, but remember to bring a baby carrier to be able to hike more easily.
For children’s bath time, a heated sanitary block is specially equipped with a baby bath at waist height for ease of use. Cleaned daily with high temperature Karsher, our sanitary facilities are clean and disinfected.

One week program for a family with a young child Day 1: Quiet city tour of Annecy

We advise you to visit the old town of Annecy on a day when there is no market. Avoid Sunday, Tuesday and Friday. On those days, the city is crowded in the morning and it is difficult to walk freely with a child.
To get to town, you can avoid traffic jams and paid parking by using the omnibus boat from Doussard: it takes pushchairs and the cruise is enjoyable with children.
Alternatively there are also free buses from Duingt 5 km from the campsite.

You can also go by bike on the cycle path, in the morning it is beautiful and quieter. We rent bikes with baby seat or cart at the campsite.

The pedestrian old town is very pleasant to visit with children: you’ll find many playgrounds, drinking water fountains and the toilets are free.

criq parc Cric'parc

One week program Day 2: Beach at Saint Jorioz and Criq'parc.

All the lakeside beaches are secure and often supervised. But with toddlers, our preference goes to the beach of Saint Jorioz. Fine sand is regularly imported there for making sand castles and digging!  The rest of the beach is shaded and grassy. The access into the water descends very gradually without too many stones for the feet. There is even a paved paddling pool,  independent of the lake, with a maximum depth of 30 cm! Admission is €2.50 per person over 10 years old for the whole day.

If your child is over 3 years old, don't miss the small  adventure park "Criq'parc". Located in the middle of a wooded area, close to the beach, children can climb, jump, have fun in complete freedom and safety. No harness or instructor needed. What fun!

Criq'parc offers organic aperitif boards to take away.

Good tip : reductions on presentation of your camping bracelet!

grotte cascade seythenex Seythenex'cave

Day 3: Visit the caves and waterfalls of Seythenex

The site is a 15-minute drive from the campsite. In July-August, you can use the free shuttle that passes in front of the campsite. The Seythenex caves are the only ones open to the public in Haute Savoie. A bilingual guide will accompany you through this fresh maze of  caves and  will explain how the rocks have been eroded over time by the water. Pushchairs are prohibited, so take a baby carrier and also a sweater: it is 10°c permanently in the cave!

There are many steps to reach the top of the visit at the foot of the waterfall. Count about 2 hours on site.

Before or after, enjoy our large playground and swimming pools! They are open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. non-stop. La Ravoire has an indoor swimming pool and Les Fontaines has a paddling pool under the glass roof. The play areas will delight the little ones with their colors and their small elements to touch. At Les Fontaines The Trampolines and the zipline or at La Ravoire the bouncy castle will be one of your little one's favorite places at any time of the day.

la grande jeanne1 Grande Jeanne animal park

Day 4 Le Semnoz and return via the deer park

The Semnoz (1700 m altitude) is about 45 minutes away. On the way out, go through the scenic route via Col de Leschaux above Saint Jorioz. At the top, you will have a magnificent view of Lake Bourget, Lake Annecy, the mountains and Mont Blanc. Several walks are possible which are not steep and from the two mountain pasture farms you can buy cheese and see goats or cows. As for any outing in the mountains, remember to take jackets, it can be cold even in the middle of summer!

On the way back, take the direction of Annecy to visit the Grande Jeanne animal park. Access to the park is free. Be careful, don't expect a zoo! This is an animal park blended into the communal forest. You can take a short walk in the forest and see deer, fallow dee and mouflons with the city of Annecy in the background.

plateau de beauregard Plateau de Beauregard

One week program with a young child Day 5: Day in Manigod and restaurant or aperitif at La Forclaz at the end of the day.

It is a typical mountain village made famous by the cook with the hat Marc Veyrat and by its ski resort.
From the campsite, take the direction of Albertville and exit the expressway at Saint Ferréol. In the village, follow the direction Thônes by the Col des Esserieux. Just before Thônes, follow the direction of Manigod then the Col de la Croix Fry. Many walks are signposted and take you to the Beauregard plateau. The view of Mont Blanc and the surrounding mountains are breathtaking.

On the way back, pass through the small town of Thônes then through the Col de Bluffy.
We recommend dinner at the restaurant La Ferme au Col de la Forclaz. The view of the lake at sunset is breathtaking. Several restaurants are located in the same place, but La Ferme will be the favorite with the children: a bay window separates you from the cows whose cheese you eat! The value for money is very good and the atmosphere will delight young and old alike.
