The Notre Dame de Tamié abbey is a Cistercian monastery which was founded in 1133 and is famous for the Tamié cheese factory. Close to the monastery is the Fort de Tamié, which was o,nce used to defend the Alpine valleys. Its architecture, the botanical trail, the magnificent viewpoints and its tree-top adventure park make it the ideal place to spend an afternoon out with the family.
The largest military building in the Combe de Savoie, the Tamié fort is freely accessible. Perched on a rocky outcrop, this fortified town from the late 19th century is a unique site, which offers a magnificent view of the Albertville valley.
